Community Constable Brine

Robbie Brine came to talk to us today about his role as Community Constable.  We saw his SRBA vest - Stab Resistant Body Armour and were surprised to know that a policeman's pen and notebook are the most important equipment they carry.

Making Hokey Pokey

We are learning to write procedures.  Today we made Hokey Pokey and the children had to write the instructions out.  Sorry parents if you had hyped up, sugar filled children!  Many have asked for the recipe:

Goal: To Make Hokey Pokey

Ingredients:            5 Tablespoons White Sugar
                               2 Tablespoons Golden Syrup
                               1 teaspoon Baking Soda
                               Greased baking tray

Steps:
1.  Put sugar and golden syrup into a saucepan
2.  Stir over a low heat
3.  Boil for 2 minutes
4.  Take off heat and add baking soda
5.  Pour into a well greased baking tray

Once cold - break into pieces and enjoy!

St. John's

Thanks very much to Paula for coming to teach us about First Aid and the role of an Ambulance Officer.  We learnt how to stop a bleeding wound and bandage it and how to phone the emergency services - please ensure your children know their address and phone number in case of an emergency.
